1. v0.5.0 New view Oct 2026

   Your recording, now also a written guide.

   • Guide. Open the Guide tab in the editor and your recording turns into step-by-step instructions. One step per click or field, each with a screenshot from just before the click and a ring on the spot. Docs that write themselves.
   • Sections from your chapters. Steps are grouped by page, named after your chapters.
   • Private stays private. Card and code fields are always blurred in the screenshots. Drag on a screenshot to blur anything else.
   • Make it yours. Edit titles and notes. Add, merge, move or delete steps. Move the ring, pick a slightly earlier or later screenshot, or hide it. Rebuild from the recording any time.
   • Export. Save as PDF, or download Markdown with an images folder for Notion, Confluence or a wiki.

   For AI agents (recklip-mcp 0.1.1)

   • Waits until the page is ready. Not just loaded: data, fonts and images in. No more half-drawn frames.
   • Scrolls like a person. A button below the fold gets a smooth, visible scroll, not a jump.
   • Shows the click coming. The cursor stops on the target for a moment before it clicks.
   • Tells you when a page won't sit still. If a page keeps changing after a step, Recklip waits a bit, goes on, and says which step it was.
2. v0.4.0 Big one Oct 2026

   Recklip suggests the edits. You say yes or no.

   • New name: Recklip. TabCast is now Recklip. Same app, new name. Coming from TabCast? Recklip installs as a new extension with its own library. Save your recordings as projects in TabCast first, then drop them on Recklip. Same red dot, though.
   • Suggest edits. When a recording opens, Recklip finds the slow parts: waiting, page loads, long typing, a dead start or end, and extra clicks. They show up as dashed items. Nothing changes until you keep them.
   • Review in one list. Each suggestion plays as you go. Enter keeps it, Backspace skips it, A shows before and after. The top shows how much time it saves.
   • Step callouts. A bubble for each click or field: "Click New invoice", "Enter customer name". It never shows what you typed.
   • Chapters. One per page, named after what you did there. Show them as a corner card, a bar at the bottom, or a full title. Copy the list for a YouTube description.
   • Blur. A new callout that pixelates an area. Card and code fields get one suggested for you, and export warns you when a blur isn't kept yet.
   • Smarter zoom. A small button gets a closer zoom, a big panel less. A new page opens wide.
   • Smoother speed. Speed parts ease in and out instead of jumping. Now up to 8×.
   • Tidier timeline. A row goes away when its last item does.
3. v0.3.2 Oct 2026

   Bring a video you already have. Edit it with the same tools.

   • Import a video. Import video in the library, or drop an MP4, MOV, or WebM anywhere in Recklip. A Mac screen recording works. If Chrome can't play the file, Recklip tells you. Cmd+Shift+5, you have an editor now.
   • Ready at once. The video stays in its folder. Recklip opens it from there, so a long recording is ready immediately.
   • Trim, zoom, talk over it. Cuts, speed, zooms, callouts, captions, sound, and export all work on it.
   • You frame the zoom. Zooms hold still. Hover the paused video and drag the box onto the part that matters. Auto zoom and the drawn cursor are for Recklip recordings, which remember every click.
   • Your edits survive a move. Rename or move the file, then use Find file. The edits come back with it. Remove it from the library and the video file stays on your computer.
   • Export lands where you choose. Recklip asks where to save, then writes the video there as it goes. A long one still finishes. Cancel, and the unfinished file is cleared away.
4. v0.3.1 Oct 2026

   Write as much as you like. Recklip makes sure people can read it.

   • Long captions, no chopping. Type it all in one caption. Recklip splits it into pages that fit, and breaks at the end of a sentence when it can. A blank line starts a new page. Your scissors can retire.
   • Too fast? You'll know. A caption turns red on the timeline when there's too much text for its time. Fit to text sets the right length in one click.
   • Freeze. Callouts and captions can hold the video still while they're on screen, then carry on. It takes the place of Pause to read.
   • Smooth stop. The video slows down into a freeze and speeds back up after. On by default. Turn it off for an instant stop.
   • See the freeze on the timeline. Every freeze gets its own space, so the timeline matches the final video. Drag the end of a frozen item to make it longer or shorter.

   Fixed

   • No more click when the video stops. The recording's sound fades out and back in.
5. v0.3.0 Oct 2026

   Cut the slow parts, speed up the waiting, and an editor that gets out of your way.

   • Cut. Press X where the boring part starts, X where it ends. Gone. Goodbye, loading spinners.
   • Speed up, or slow down. Fast-forward the waiting. Slow down the tricky bit.
   • Mute the page. Silence the tab's own sound and put your music or voice on top.
   • Full bleed by default. The video takes the page's shape. Nothing gets cropped.
   • A calmer editor. One + Add button, settings in tabs, and press ? for every shortcut. We deleted a lot of words.
   • See before you add. Hover anything in + Add to watch what it does. Small tips show up the first time, then leave you alone.
   • A library with pictures. Every recording shows a frame from the video. Hover to play it.
   • Mic check. The popup shows your mic level before you record.
   • A proper hello. First install shows how it works and helps you pin Recklip.

   Fixed

   • Pause to read no longer freezes the video. It waits for the time you set, then carries on.
   • Zooms no longer cut off the page edge.
   • Pressing B or C no longer types the letter. The new box starts empty, like it should.
6. v0.2.0 Oct 2026

   Callouts grew up. They can point, box, spotlight, and even hit pause.

   • Four kinds of callouts. Bubble, arrow, box, and spotlight. Pick what fits the moment.
   • Spotlight. Dims the page except the part that matters. Subtle? No. Clear? Very.
   • Arrows that draw themselves. The arrow sweeps in and lands on the exact spot.
   • Titles. A bold first line, then the details.
   • No more dot. The tail points at the spot, so nothing covers what you show. Want a mark? Pick a ring or a dot. The dot had a good run.
   • Colors. Blue, red, yellow, green, or white for arrows, boxes, and marks.
   • Pause to read. The video freezes while a callout shows. Music keeps playing. Finally, time to actually read it.
   • Move and resize on the video. Drag a box or spotlight to move it, drag a corner to resize.

   Fixed

   • Fixed zoom box no longer gets stuck. It could grow to the whole page, and then you couldn't move it.
   • Switching Follow ↔ Fixed no longer jumps. The zoom keeps its level.
   • Fixed zoom is sized by its corners only. The extra Level slider was confusing, so it's gone.

   Hello, world. It records a tab and makes you look like you hired an editor.

   • Record any tab. Picture and tab sound, plus your mic if you want it. You still hear the tab. We checked.
   • Auto zoom. Clicks and typing turn into smooth zooms. Mouse wiggles are ignored. No judging.
   • A camera that follows your cursor. It only slides when it has to.

   • Pretty frames. 8 gradient backgrounds, padding, round corners, shadow. Instant glow-up.
